Ahhh, look at its little face! My mother drove one of these VW Kombis in the 70s. It was such a great car. As kids we could walk between the driver and passenger seats, hangin’ in the back on 2 rows of incredibly hard, yet bouncy seats. It had a sliding side door for access.
Love this manual cover. It’s been turned into a retro icon since this was designed. VW was really not cool back then. It was like an early people carrier, driven and enjoyed by oddballs. Needless to say we loved it.
Since re-blogging this manual cover, Volkswagen Brazil have announced a Final Edition version of the classic Type 2 Kombi van, a vehicle that has been in continuous production since 1957. This makes VW Kombi, the longest running production model in automotive history.
